Gregori Chiaroni
History.

The first Chiaroni to come to New Zealand was Ambrogio (Ambrose) Chiaroni, from Germasino, (prononced Jer-maa-zi-no) near Dongo and Lake Como, Northern Italy. He was Gregori's great great uncle and he established a fine art and marble stone importation and retail business in Dunedin. Later Mansueto, his nephew and Gregori's Great Grandfather immigrated to Aotearoa New Zealand in the 1890s and settled in Invercargill where he established a fine art gallery and framing business. Gregori Chiaroni™ has continued on the family's tradition in fine art. Gregori Chiaroni™ is a New Zealand artist born and raised in Invercargill, the Southern most city in the world.

Gregori’s work is recognized internationally and held in private collections in Europe, America, Asia, Australasia and the Pacific.

As soon as he graduated from the Otago School of Fine Art, he began his journey as an artist, participating in exhibitions and establishing his own personal style. Gregori’s work has always been very diverse. The range of skills and techniques he employs includes “whatever needs to happen in the creative process, to enable myself as a visual artist to fully express everything that becomes important to me as a human being and an artist during that process”.

Gregori Chiaroni™ continues to experiment with colour and texture, and his ability to work across diverse mediums has seen him complete many commissions. These have included both public and private commissions from drawing, painting and sculpture to logo design.

Gregori Chiaroni™ is now selling his work exclusively from this website and selected galleries in New Zealand and the pacific, as well as exhibiting with Museums in New Zealand.
